Shaw Method - Swimming for Life

The Shaw Method is a great way to discover the joy of swimming. You can learn a new and sustainable way of swimming all the strokes including butterfly, regardless of how much or how little you think you already know! (In fact the less you know, the better!!) The Shaw Method applies the Alexander Technique to your use of your body in the water. Through a series of progressive practices which have been developed over twenty years, The Shaw Method can transform your experience of swimming. The Shaw Method is about swimming for life and for health.

Learning to swim using the principled approach of the Shaw Method you will be able to start a lifelong journey of improvement; perfect timing and technique (and even the butterfly) will not be beyond your reach! You don't have to be "fit" - you will get fitter as you learn to relax and are then able to swim further distances! Everyone knows that swimming is "good" for you, but how many of us swim well enough to get the undoubted benefits? On the other side, how come 70% of competitive swimmers have shoulder problems? There is an alternative. You will come away from this workshop with all the tools you need to perfect your strokes.

One day workshops will cover the fundamentals of The Shaw Method and one of the standard strokes. Each workshop will include 2 sessions in the pool & 3 dry land sessions in a studio. 6 Hours CPD and 1 hour for lunch.
