Fascia Talkshow 1 - Some History of Anatomy's Missing Link

Jo Avison presents the first in a series of Talkshows on Fascia and Fascia-related modalities. This first episode will cover:

1. The History: how we came to the new paradigm

2. The Changing Ideas, natural evolution and exploration in traditional and alternative views

3. The Research, the rise in sponsorship with changing ideas and communication

4. The Early Pioneers

5. Contemporary Pioneers

6. A New Holistic Paradigm for a plethora of new modalities in manual and movement therapies

Date: LIVE broadcast 8 February 2012 - recording available

Venue: Online webinar with Joanne Avison

Recording Cost: £10

Fascia Talkshow 2 - Fascia Revealed

Robert Schleip has called Fascia the “Cinderella Tissue of Orthopedics”. In the next Talk Show we will look at how the ways in which dissection was done effectively hid the nature of this body wide fascial matrix. The new perspective is revealing qualities unimagined before

Date: 7 March 2012 @ 8pm GMT

Venue: LIVE Online webinar with Joanne Avison

Cost: £10

Fascia Talkshow 3 - 3rd International Fascia Research Congress Report

Hot off the press! Did you miss it?! Jo reports on the 3rd International Fascia Research Congress. She will present an overview of the highlights of the event in Vancouver, Canada and present some of the key research that we will go into more depth with over the coming Fascia Talkshows about current fascial pioneers - always seeking to keep the work alive and make it relevant to practitioners of any modality!

Date: 11 April 2012 @ 8pm GMT

Venue: LIVE Online webinar with Joanne Avison

Cost: £10

Fascia Talkshow 4 - Fascial Meridians in Motion

Jo looks at Tom Myers' work of Anatomy Trains, which presents the classical anatomy texts in 'joined up writing' by demonstrating the myofascial continuities of the soft tissue connected body - the Fascial Meridians. It facilitates the new perspective in the sense of showing continuous lines of pull through the entire body and demonstrating that the muscles exist within the fascial architecture - rather than functioning as discreet and separate entities, isolated to their assigned biomechanical restrictions.

Date: 9 May 2012 @ 8pm GMT

Venue: LIVE Online webinar with Joanne Avison

Cost: £10

Fascia Talkshow 5 - The Work of the Pioneers in Biotensegrity

Jo looks at the work of Buckminster Fuller, Stephen Levin and the practical applications of Daniele-Claude Martin in this fascinating topic of Biotensegrity. After defining what Biotensegrity is Jo will look at the relevance of its application to movement and manual therapies alike.

Date: 6 Jun 2012 @ 8pm GMT

Venue: LIVE Online webinar with Joanne Avison

Cost: £10
