Event Sports Massage & Medical Massage for Cervical Spine

This is a two-day hands-on workshop with Day 1 focused on Event Sports Massage and Day 2 covering Medical Massage for the neck region.

DAY 1 A very complete course in Event Sports Massage. It teaches you timing, theory, techniques, the specific strokes of Sports Massage and the most efficient ways to apply them. Learn pre and post event massage routines on both table and chair. This workshop will help you become a more efficient therapist at the event or in your office.

This workshop covers:

  • Theory, timing and techniques for Event Sports Massage.

  • The specific strokes used in Event Sports Massage and the most efficient way to apply them.

  • Cramp management techniques (these will help when patients get cramps on your massage table in your office as well as at the sporting event site!).

  • Equipment, preparation and sanitation considerations.

  • Pre-Event Massage routine on a massage table (and demonstrated on a massage chair).

  • Intercompetition Massage.

  • Post Event Massage routine on a massage table (and demonstrated on a massage chair).

This workshop will help you become a more efficient, effective therapist by teaching you a powerful, full body massage that can be done in 12 - 15 minutes. This leaves you the rest of the session to address the specific complaints of the patient. You will also learn the neurological effect of each stroke so you can chose the exact stroke you need to best help your client/athlete.

Sports Massage, it isn't just for athletes anymore!
 
DAY 2 Many Medical Massage client complaints are in the neck region and so the second day of this course focuses on this area. You will learn assessment, treatment and rehabilitation techniques. Emphasis will be placed on developing precise palpatory skills, posture analysis. 80% Hands-on!

You will learn how to treat conditions such as Headaches, Cervical Strains, Whiplash, ROM Limitations, Military Neck and much more with safe, simple, pain-free techniques

Entire cervical region, posterior, lateral and anterior is studied and examined, including the anterior muscles like longus coli, scalenes, SCM and hyoids. This is a very comprehensive cervical routine and addresses almost all cervical problems. It's awesome!

Participants should bring: Notebook & Pen, Wear loose comfortable clothing that allows movement, Bring shorts; Top that allows access to neck and shoulder (female), An open mind ready to learn!
