Deep
Massage: The Lauterstein Method is a unique approach to structural and energetic
bodywork. David Lauterstein developed this originally at the Chicago School of
Massage Therapy in 1983 and has been teaching it worldwide ever since. This
method integrates both the art and science of bodywork, with roots in the
traditions of Rolfing, Cranio-sacral therapy and Zero Balancing.
Deep
Massage training participants learn to:
-
Apply
over 50 new deep techniques to thoroughly relieve clients' pain and
tension
-
Design
individually-based Deep Massage sessions which address energy as well as
structure simultaneously
-
Use
the 'fulcrum' model to cultivate a much higher quality of touch
-
Use
observation skills to see the 'working signs' of mind-body healing
-
Utilise
an integrated energy model to see the common ground underlying chakras,
meridians, bioenergetic therapy etc
-
Facilitate
the client's letting go from inside out; rather than trying to force change
from outside in
-
Cultivate
a higher level of biomechnics and psychomechanics
In
this introductory workshop 'Back and Neck' David will introduce this practical
work. There will be a high level of attention paid to your 'getting' the work in
your hands and hear - so your clients feel immediate and deeper benefit.
You
will learn powerful soft tissue 'fulcrums' for the back and neck; fist down
erectors, nine points, ironing up, levator scapula, trapezius, semispinalis
capitis, multifidi, and half moon vectors through neck and legs. You will also
learn all the basic theory of deep massage including energy model, working signs
of mind-body healing and how to create soft tissue fulcrums.
NB
All participants will receive a free 2-DVD set that shows the basic Deep Massage
work thoroughly
